About us

A church that keeps the door open.

A full sanctuary seen from above, pews filled for worship

Our story

Wayfield started in 2011 in a borrowed middle school gym with forty people, a drum kit and a coffee urn. We did not set out to build a big church. We set out to build a place where a stranger could walk in on a Sunday and be welcomed by name before the music ended.

Today about two thousand people call Wayfield home across three Sunday services and more than a hundred home groups. The size has changed. The welcome has not. We open the Bible, we sing loud, we eat together and we send people out to serve the neighbors around us.

We believe the church is not a show or a brand. It is a people. Our job is to be one, and to make the next step easy for anyone who wants to take it.

What we hold to

What we hold to.

  • Big welcome
  • Clear next steps
  • Honest faith
  • Every age and stage
  • Good news for our city

What we believe

What we believe.

  • The Bible

We believe the Bible is God's word and our final authority for what we believe and how we live.

  • Jesus

We believe Jesus is fully God and fully man, that he died for our sins, rose bodily and will return.

  • Grace

We believe we are saved by grace through faith, not by anything we do.

  • The Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit lives in every believer, makes us more like Jesus and equips the church.

  • The church

We believe the local church is God's plan for his people: baptism, communion, community and mission.

  • Hope

We believe God is making all things new and that we get to live in that hope now.
